The district mission, “to educate and empower our students to reach their potential” cannot be achieved without the collaborative efforts of many groups including the School Board, CMCSS staff and employees, as well as local government and civic organizations. The Director’s office is a point where these individuals or groups input their vision of success for our students. This vision becomes reality as goals are set and steps to achieve those goals are put in place.
The Director of Schools works with the School Board to determine the policies and goals that will best direct the district in supporting its mission and vision of all students achieving at their highest potential. The Director and staff regularly report to the Board on the continuing progress toward meeting these goals and share those areas of concern that the School Board may need to address.
The Director of Schools works with staff to define the direction of the School District by stating the strategic goals and work targeted that will enable the district to support student achievement at increasingly higher levels each year.
The Director is also an advocate for the school system in communicating the district’s successes, desires, and needs with federal and state agencies; local government; civic organizations; the business community; citizens; parents; students; and employee groups.
