Health Services are provided to monitor, promote, and protect the health of students in the Pre-K through 12th grade school setting. These services foster growth, development, and education achievement for our students.
The Health Services/School Nurse takes on a leadership role by assessing risks and promoting resilience to ensure that students achieve optimal health and well-being.
Some of the services provided by your school nurse are:
- Monitoring health/immunization records
- Monitoring for communicable disease
- Development of an individualized plan of care for children with specific health care needs
- Hearing/Vision Screening
- Medication Administration
- Medical/Nursing procedures
- Emergency /First Aid care for students and school personnel
- Education of students on medical conditions and treatments related to that condition
- Education regarding the management of students medical conditions in the school setting
- Providing instruction to personnel on student Self Administration of Medication and administration of Epipen and Glucagon
- Educating and promoting safety
