Meet the Staff

The vehicle maintenance department is responsible for providing or coordinating all vehicle maintenance and recovery activity to the Districts 227 vehicle “school bus fleet” as well as the districts 120 vehicle “white fleet”.

The department is staffed with 14 diesel mechanics and support employees. Maintenance performed in the department ranges from replacing a headlight to rebuilding engines and transmissions. Also included in the department’s mission is the requirement to staff and operate two vehicle maintenance facilities (14 bays), four fuel sites, and the district’s three tower trunking radio system. Each school year the district’s vehicles consume over 450,000 gallons of diesel fuel, 35,000 gallons of gasoline, and over 4,000 gallons of lubricants. The vehicles require over $250,000 in replacement parts and over 600 tires. All of these resources are funded in the department’s budget.

Vehicle Maintenance Staff
