Negotiation Meetings

Negotiation meetings are held per current Memorandum of Agreement.

April 21, 2009

CMCEA and CMCSS met April 21, 2009 for continuing negotiations on Article VIII for 2009-2010. The following items were discussed and tentatively agreed on.

The 2008-2009 differentiated pay agreement will be extended to June 30, 2010.

CMCSS will move to paperless payroll for employees using direct deposit.  Those employees will have the opportunity to opt out of the paperless system and continue receiving printed pay information.  This change is being made to be more environmentally friendly and as a cost cutting measure.

The teacher pay matrix will reflect a 2% increase to each step of the 2008-2009 teacher salary schedule excluding the non-degree +10 and +20 columns.  These will remain at $100 and $200 respectively.  This increase will be effective beginning July 1, 2009, and will be reflected beginning with the September 2009 paycheck.

There were no other proposals from either side.  The salary changes will have to be ratified by the membership of CMCEA and the CMCSS Board of Education to be added to the 2008-2011 MOA.  Negotiations are closed until reopened for 2010-2011.

April 14, 2009

CMCEA and CMCSS met on April 14, 2009 for the opening meeting of negotiations. This negotiation is limited to Article VIII. All other Articles were negotiated for three years, 2008-2011. CMCEA offered a Proposal of a 4% increase to be added to each cell in the current matrix with the exception of the non-degree education steps which will remain at the current $100 and $200 increments. CMCSS offered no counter proposal. As there were no other proposals from either organization, the meeting was adjourned. The next scheduled round is April 21, 2009 at 4 p.m. at Gracey Avenue.
