Clarksville-Montgomery County School System recognizes the important connection between parent involvement and student achievement. Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. Below you will find a comprehensive list of dates and other information that will impact your child’s education and school schedule.

Following are some important dates and other miscellaneous information to keep parents connected through the school year.

Checking Grades
A new program called PowerSchool allows parents to track their child’s grades, progress and attendance in every class. Passwords for parents to access their child’s account will be available at the schools.

Middle School Testing Dates
December 2, State Gateway Math Exam
February 3, TCAP 8th Grade Writing Exam
April 14-17, TCAP Exams
May 5, State Gateway Math Exam

Progress Report Dates
November 7; December 1; January 30; February 20; April 13; May 1

Report Card Dates
December 19; March 13; May 22

Early Dismissal Days
Schools will close two hours and 15 minutes early for teacher staff development training on the following dates: February 9 and March 23

Attendance
Making sure students are at school on time and allowing them to stay in school all day is beneficial to a child’s educational growth and development. Mornings are a time when students often go over new material while the end of the day is used to reinforce the material  to check for understanding.

Middle School Programs
Bridges
– an intervention program designed to help struggling eighth grade students become academically successful in high school
Summer school – offered to middle and high school students to earn the credits they need to stay on track for high school graduation
Read 180 – a research-based reading program to help students acquire the reading skills needed to read on grade level
Language! – a reading intervention program  to help elementary, middle and high school students with special needs
Vocabulary strategies
- a language intervention program used to build the vocabulary base of students
GPA – a three-year program designed to help middle school students gain the study and organizational skills necessary to succeed in high school
